What you'll get
Every marketplace has an image-size rule, and none of them publish it in the same words. Meesho wants white-background photos capped on the longest side, Flipkart wants a square canvas that doesn't crop your product, Instagram wants exactly 1080×1080 — and your camera shoots 4000×3000 at 6MB. This free image resizer bridges that gap in one step: drop a batch of photos, pick a marketplace preset or type exact dimensions, and download correctly sized copies — no signup, no upload, no watermark from us.
The presets are the three jobs Indian sellers actually run. Meesho listing caps the longest side at 2000px on a white background (JPEG) — big enough for zoom, small enough to upload fast, and it never upscales: a small photo stays sharp instead of getting stretched. Flipkart listing produces a 1000×1000 white canvas with your photo contain-fitted inside — the square shape catalogs expect, with letterbox margins instead of a forced crop that chops off product edges. Instagram / social gives the exact 1080×1080 square for posts and stories covers. And Custom size takes any width and height up to 8000px with a lock-aspect toggle: with the lock on, typing a width updates the height to your photo's ratio; with it off, you get the exact box with the image centred — never distorted.
Distortion is the failure mode this tool is built to avoid. Na stretch, na squash: everything uses contain-fit maths, so a 4:3 photo in a 1:1 box keeps its proportions and fills the frame up to the edges with white margins where needed. Downscaling uses the browser's high-quality canvas draw, and the white-background flatten is a real canvas composite (transparency painted white before encode) — not a filter guess. Output format follows the preset: JPEG for marketplace uploads (universally accepted, compact) or PNG when you want lossless edges for graphics.
Batch is first-class: multi-select in the file picker or drag a whole folder onto the dropzone, see live target dimensions for the selected photo, process everything in one run and pull down a single ZIP. Each result row shows original size, final size and the exact pixel dimensions so you can sanity-check against the catalog guideline before uploading. Because every step runs in your browser on canvas, a 30-photo batch finishes in seconds with no queue — and your unlisted product shots never touch a server.
Order of operations matters: edit first (crop, background, color), resize last, compress only if the platform asks. Keep masters at original resolution forever — marketplaces change their recommended sizes more often than you think, and re-exporting from a master is lossless-ish while re-resizing a resized file compounds softness. Pair this with the Image Compressor for hard size limits, the Watermark Tool for branded copies, and the Image Maker when you need a clean white-background shot to begin with.
Why resize before upload?
- Marketplace catalogs reject or deprioritise wrong-size images — presets keep you inside the gate
- A 6MB camera photo uploads slow on 4G and gets re-compressed by the platform anyway
- Contain-fit keeps whole products visible — forced crops cut off edges that buyers need to see

Frequently asked questions
What image size do Meesho and Flipkart actually need?
Marketplace requirements change, so always check the current catalog guidelines — but the safe pattern for Indian marketplaces is: minimum 500×500 px, 1000×1000 to 2000 px on the longest side preferred, pure white background, JPEG under a couple of MB. This tool ships those as presets: Meesho caps the longest side at 2000px with white bg, Flipkart gives you a 1000×1000 white canvas (image contain-fitted, never stretched).
Will resizing stretch or distort my photo?
No. Presets and custom sizes use contain-fit (aspect ratio locked): the image scales down to fit and is centred on the canvas with white letterbox margins where the box shape differs from your photo. The Meesho-style cap never upscales either — a small photo stays its original size rather than getting blurry.
Should I resize before or after editing?
Edit first, resize last. Do your cropping, background cleanup and color work at original resolution, then run the resizer as the final step before upload — resizing twice (especially downscaling twice) costs sharpness. Keep the original master file safe; export resized copies for each marketplace.
Custom size: what does lock-aspect do?
With lock on, changing width auto-updates height to your photo's ratio (and vice versa), so output matches your numbers as closely as possible without cropping. Unlock it when a platform demands an exact canvas (say 1080×1080) — the photo is then contain-fitted inside that exact box with white (or transparent, for PNG) margins, never squashed.
Does resizing affect marketplace ranking or image quality score?
Uploading a needlessly huge 8MB photo doesn't win you ranking — marketplaces re-process uploads anyway. Blurry, upscaled or stretched images do hurt conversion, and many catalogs reject below-minimum resolutions. Resizing to the recommended range with correct aspect ratio keeps you inside every quality gate while cutting upload time; watermarks and fancy overlays are a separate, unrelated choice.
